I am attempting to render out a one minute 1920 x 1080 stabilized clip through the render queue. The stabilization was done in CS4, not Mocha. I can export the movie in 8 bit and 16 bit, but once 32 bit is activated (with or without color management) the encoding stops part way through and returns me to the interface. Does not matter if I encode to QT or uncompressed avi. It just won't do it.
Am I missing some step?
AE CS4 Vista 64bit i7 920 Intel 12 gigs ram. Multiprocessing turned on and 2.8 gigs per core assigned. Seperate RAID 0 media and system drives.
Renders 8 and 16 bit but not 32Are you saying that you're trying to export a movie with 32-bit-per-channel color? If so, what codec are your trying to export 32-bpc color to? And why?
There are very few codecs that support 32-bit-per-channel color.
For some background on color bit depths, see ''Color depth and high dynamic range color''.
Renders 8 and 16 bit but not 32Todd. I think that your answer is leading me in the right direction. My AE comp contained a Cineform RAW file at 3840 x 2160. After stabilization, I then changed the projects settings to 1920 x 1080 and output throught render queue to a Cineform avi. But, then uncompressed avi or QT could not handle 32 bpc either.
So, I take it that I should not expect 32 bpc with Cineform?
That sounds like an issue where AE's 32bpc buffer is not properly dithered down to ther lower bit-depth of the CoDec. Could also be a simple memory issue inside the CoDec, where frames are not flushed after a while. Really hard to tell. I would definitely check with Cineform. from my own limited experimentations in the past with freely available footage, I know that the whole setup is very sensitive and in fact different versions of the CoDec work in different versions of AE...
